this is based on buu saga, when trunks finally see's his father alive.short fan fic
Trunks appears back on earth with his mother and friends. he searches around for his father who is no where to be found. trunks eyes fell to his feet tears began to swell. a hand then landed upon his shoulder. he swung around to see his father standing in front of his eyes. he fought back all the tears but failed. he ran to his father embracing him in a tight hug pouring his heart out in his arms. Vegeta looked at his son and smiled. there family was family hole. <3

People also forget that future Trunks was sensible than present Trunks . Present Trunks was brought by Vegeta and Bulma who were selfish, arrogant and impure by heart. So between Goten and Present Trunks it was Goten was more sensible beacuse present Trunks was brought up in arrogance by Vegeta ad Bulma. So merely spending time with family does not make a prefect family man. In dragon ball super even if Vegeta supported future Trunks it was one saga, future Trunks could not be there forever. Vegeta was the most selfish and stupid character but it is the mistake and sin of his fans to treat him like saint. Only spending time with family does not mean one becomes great character. Stupid fans also forget that despite of Vegeta hurting Goku so much Goku still supported when buu hurt him shouting to people of earth to help him. Even if Vegeta helped him it does not mean he should be considered as God. Other Z fighters understood Goku much better and even they would have helped Goku. And even present Trunks was as bad as his father so spending time does not mean he is a great father. Fans can support Vegeta does not mean they should not understand Goku and Chichi. Supporting character does not mean they should be treated like gods even for wrong reasonsEverytime stupid people thought bad about Goku and Chichi and treating vegeta and bulma like saints. Stupid and pathetic Vegeta and bulma fans.

Vegeta is a good father, unlike Goku who is never really there for his boys.
Vegeta was there for Trunks and Bra. He watch them both grow up. He even gave Trunks a hug before he sacrificed himself. And in GT (I hated DBGT) he spoiled Bra rotten.

The problem with Goku is that he treated Gohan and Goten more like they were his friends instead of his kids.
He never disciplines them, and doesn't even really know them.
Vegeta on the other hand is strict when it comes to raising Trunks.
