a wip that wilL EVENTUALLy be completed fairly soon i just needa refine some things that im having difficulties with

my current issues are

the matte-matter (solid black or red parts of the body depending on the sketch) i am debating on being just black / solid dark color / wisp-spirit essence thingy, or if it should be customization just like the glove/leg bits

i kind of want the bones to be able to "phase" through the clothes since their purpose is to protect the core of the ... species' body, but im unsure how i want that to show through without looking too clunky? and, if i decide not to have the ribcage bones show through, then i need something to help signify that this species is it's own species, since sometimes the addition of clothing can hide that...????

unsure on how i can add more / change customizable areas without making the species' designs look too clustered or messy.., i wanna provide owners with flexibility on designing but so far it seems very restricted..?

if anyone has suggestions just lmk! ill have to think about all of them but theyre very much appreciated <3
