Her family, often involved in underground illicit activities as well as deals within the Black Market did not only give her the money to get anything she materially needed, but also to be respected despite her status as a hybrid.

With a seemingly perfect life, away from all the crimes and blood that her parents and relatives had to deal with daily, Diana's material needs were completely satisfied and she would barely feel loneliness, for she had a twin brother with whom she shared many interests and hobbies. However, a fatherly and motherly figure were often missing...And this resulted in them becoming a handful in their moments of boredom. Despite the many attempts of the maids and butlers in their household to stop them, not even a single one of them would be able to return home without being pranked at least once by the "devil twins". Yet, their parents would overlook most of these events seeing that they had a perfect etiquette and behaviour whenever it was necessary.

A warm day, an unexpected guest arrived to the Aldrovandini household. It was one of the very rare occasions that both parents were at home. The twins barely managed to overhear the adults' conversation; all they could grasp were the words "rabbit" and "servant". Dismissing this and going back to their pranks, the children completely forgot about the matter until their father departed for another country once again.

"It's Russia this time--"

"Why would Father go to such an inhospitable place?"

"No clue. But he'd better bring gifts!"

"Yeah! And I hope he catches a cold and comes back at once!"

The head of the Aldrovandini mafia then returned to Italy in a matter of days. However, he didn't bring a cold with him. Behind all his associates there was a new face, that of a girl whom they have never seen before. Yet, what piqued their interest was not her sudden visit, but her physical appearance: She had rabbit ears just like them.

A few introductions later, the slightly confusing scenario was cleared. The new girl, just a few years older than them, was just bought by the twins' parents to work as a servant in their household. The children were doubtful at first, not sure about their father's intentions. The adults around immediately realized why another rabbit was brought in, though. Since the bosses were always busy and couldn’t look after their children like normal parents would, a new maid similar to them was hired. Perfect manners, a docile nature and a caring personality akin to that of a mother or an elder sister. All these traits were noticed by the mafia's boss, which led him to think it'd be a good opportunity for the twins to make a new friend and unconsciously have a motherly figure close to them. This was mostly for Diana's sake though, as she was the most emotional one of the twins.

Of course, the kids' intelligence was not one to be taken for granted: Soon enough, they both realized the man's intentions and they were not exactly pleased with this. Although it wasn't the new girl's fault, Diana and Niccolo decided to do what they did the best: Play pranks. The girl, who happened to have numbers as her name, was about to experience a hellish life from that point on.

Everyday became a new chance to develop a new prank. The twins were delighted with this, seeing that the "poor maid" usually fell for their antics and in extraordinary ways. But there was something that didn't fall in their calculations. No matter what they did, no matter how many times they gave her trouble, the girl was reluctant to give up on them.

Her reluctance to give up was something that surprised both Diana and Niccolo, yet they didn't dislike it. Rather, quite the opposite.

“… I shall call you ‘Vera’. Nice name, right?”

Their pranks continued, though Vera had a different treatment. They toned down their usual antics and often rewarded the new bunny whether it was with food or new clothing.

As years passed, the bosses of the Aldrovandini family decided it was time for the twins to finally start involving themselves within the family business, teaching them the rules of the mafia world and giving them the means to execute some of their basic activities. The twins’ parents themselves then decided to teach them these skills: While their father focused on Nico’s training and handling of different weapons, their mother made emphasis on Di’s lessons in the art of deception in business. During this time, Vera’s workload decreased, giving her a much needed break. She would still carry on with her regular tasks though, taking care of the twins on their free time, while supporting them from afar during their lessons.

Yet, as much as the bunny appreciated the two children, a hint of sorrow was always present in her face...And that didn’t escape Diana’s notice.
At first, Diana would rudely pester Vera, asking her the reason for it and also demanding her to change that expression. Eventually, she realized it wasn't because she disliked them, or because she disliked her job, but because of the difference in their status.
The bunny named Vera had many talents and many virtues, but she was still a servant... And she was still a rabbit. It wasn't jealousy what Diana saw in her but rather, confusion and sadness. The girl was vexed by this attitude, but more than everything, she found the rabbit’s situation rather pitiful...And she thought it was time to change this.
A certain day, while Vera served tea in their garden, Diana spoke her mind.

“What if I told you I can give you back your freedom? I can even make you have a good life like mine.”

“...I always get this feeling that you’re not suited to be our servant. I already have Father’s permission, so what do you say?”

It wasn't that hard to know what the girl's answer would be. Two years later, the bunny named Vera was finally given her freedom.
