*1 out of 4 sketches I did in Hawaii. I did a few other sketches, but those were comic pages for The Champion and SatBK: Chaotix.*Sonic's father, Jules, was a bit more challenging to draw. I remember trying to draw him multiple times before, but they weren't that good. During long waits, my little cousins watched me sketch this (as well as a few others). Afterward I drew a bunch of Sonic sketches for my little cousins (they love the Sonic series so much.
I think I've passed down my interest in the Sonic universe down to my cousins . . . ).Jules@Archie comics

Nice job on Sonic's roboticized father. I like the detail you added.

Man, it really made me an emotional wreck during the scene where he was assassinated by that android turtle with the drill arm, and not even a Power Ring was able to save him. That was such a sad scene in the comics.

Thanks!Β I recently bought some metallic colored pencils from an art museum during my time in Hawaii.Β I used them to color in this sketch, but the colors didn't come out that well in the scanner.Β

Me too. The Sonic series has been known to really have dramatic scenes that really choke me up. Like for instance, Maria's death sceneΒ had me an emotional wreck for about a week when I first saw it. It was even more depressing than Bambi's mother getting shot. And don't even get me started on Cosmo's tragic demise. ;_;
