Finally, after what has felt like the end of time, I have finished this!!! And good lord am I proud of this one!Started this about 1.5-2 years ago probably now, and touched it off and on. Stopped for a while because I just wasn't satisfied with my knowledge on shading and lighting, and I really wanted more than what I was at the time achieving with this one. Very happy to say that waiting was a good idea! The improvement I see within myself with this piece is beyond what I could ask for right now! So happy to have this absolute monster done, because I'm tired of working on it lol! It tested me to my limits of artistic knowledge, but I'm so proud of it, and it feels like an amazing victory to see it complete!
Also... living proof that I still love Meta Knight and Kirby lol! They've never been forgotten, and you'll still see them among my other stuff that I work on from time to time. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I do!

Okay where do I ever start with this; you've got like... this really cool mix between two shading styles going here that I can see; one where it's cartoony, cell-shading kind of stuff with those big blobs of harder highlights and shadows, and then that's mixing with stuff that's blended really smoothly, and then you put in those grainy little sparkles!!! On Meta's cape and wings and HHHHH PRETTY
Not to mention your lovely background where it's all starry but still warm and the fact that this whole piece is made of actual fluff and whoops look at that I am dead

That wing better be anatomically correct lol! I work hard on proper wing anatomy because wings just need that! But I just... love drawing wings honestly so I don't mind at all...Especially Meta's and making them a lot larger then they are canonically. The bigger the better...
And yes, the eyes. Definitely a core element imo. I love smashing as much life as I can into their eyes, and I just can't get over my eye style for Meta Knight. Same shape idea as Kirby, but noticeably a little more squared off, and of course, I had to make them on the larger side to blatantly contrast with his personality lol. No one would expect a face like that to be hiding under that mask.
AND FOR GOSH SAKE, THE EFFORT IN THE LIGHTING AND SHADING BETTER SHOW!!! I THREW TOO MUCH TIME INTO THIS TO BE UNSATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS, SO... ADBNDFLSFHAS!!!!! THANK YOU!!! I AM MOST CERTAINLY PROUD OF THIS ONE!!

Dude it looks really good!! Wings are very important and YES they are so fun to draw!! And they gotta be huge, so you're 100% right on all points XD As always, eyes are by far one of the most important parts of a piece imo. Yesss give Meta the ginormous eyes please XD I am shameless and I will support orbs with giant eyeballs every day of the week. Give me the cute. I need it. I'm sure he'd be very bothered by our comments about how adorable he is, but too bad for him XD

Plus my version of Meta honesty needs some extra love and reassurance, because his life has been absolute crap, so please give him extra hugs and kisses and tell him he's cute as much as you want!

Such a two edged sword. One minute we love him, and the next we're stabbing him in the back, killing everyone he loves, giving him PTSD, and a hoard of other emotional problems. My love is shown through angst...

Why do you think I literally right nothing but hurt/comfort like 80% of the time?! That's where all the best fluff and feels come from! I can literally turn a character in a punching bag, but then gloss it over with with warm fuzzy feels to make it all better. XD But yeah... I've hit Meta with lots of angst chairs... I'm suprised he's not dead yet. >
