Nice costume, it looks amazing! I'm thinking of doing something similar for my next con. Could you give me some tips for how to make the jacket/vest.

Hey, thanx! I had the jacket sewn by a woman who's great at these sorts of things, like the guy above, I could check if she could start making international orders... cuz the jacket came out awesome. I wish I could give you further help on it, but she's the one that knows.

Sry for writing back so late. Here goes, for the cap, I just bought a regular red cap, and I cut everything that's white from some material I don't even recall... but you could do it with any kind of material that's easy to work with. As for the jacket, I had it made... the woman who made it is awesome at sewing, so she did it in no time... she's from the Dominican Republic, but she lives in Puerto Rico, I really wouldn't know in your case... though, if you want, I could ask her if she could do international orders, Im guessing she could help you out.

Hey, I'm making a Red cosplay myself, and I could use a little advice. Yours looks really good, so I'm asking you, if you don't mind.
How did you get the hat and the little blue thing on the backpack (I think it's a VS Seeker) to look so good? Because that's where I'm having trouble.

Thank u, miss! Ok, so here it goes... I got a red closed-cap at a store that specializes in caps and hats, called Lids (its possible you might have one close to yourself). So I got white fabric, and I got creative cutting the white patterns for the cap, glueing them on the cap. But I figured... the small white symbol on Red's cap looks kinda cheap if its too small, so I made it more proportional to the cap and my head's size, (which most cap symbols are in reality). As for the Vs Seeker, I really think it was a miracle that my getting creative cutting up small cereal boxes actually worked well with some construction paper on top... But Im thinking a better Vs Seeker could be constructed by using a computer mouse (ingenious, huh?? it should make it look techie, plus, it should be easy enough to paint, and light enough to carry with ur shoulder-strap). Of course... it should be easier if u take everything it has inside out first, lol. But yeah, there are many ways to make a Vs Seeker.... if any of these do not work, do not hesitate in contacting me again.

Alright, thank you. I will think about the computer mouse idea. (As for the hat, I've already ordered one online, and I'll probably end up glueing white fabric to the bill like you did)
Thank you again!

Hahahaha, Thanx man, u know....a Pkmn Battle against u does sound cool.... may b as soon as I get home and College leaves me enough time we will indeed battle, hahaha. Long live Pokemon, hahaha. Im with ya in that. Truth is, I've been a big fan of Pkmn, ever since it began (I think I was 12 or so), and when my group of friends and I decided we would do a Smash Cosplay, the idea of dressing as Red practically jumped from me, lol. It was so awesome. Well, about the costume...I got the red jacket made by a friend, the armbands I bought in Hot Topic, the backpack was in a random store (I wish I would've found it with the yellow suspenders, but yeah...well), a friend of mine made me the Vs Seeker, I had the black t-shirt and jeans, I customized a red cap I bought, I bought the pokeball @ K-B Toys, and I bought the shoes @ Champs I think, so there u go, lol. I hope u guys @ Europe get the game soon, its awesome. And may b then we can Smash battle 2?? lol. Anywayz, thanx man

Can you maybe telll me how to customize a red cap into a PokΓ©mon Trainer red cap? Please...
And if you know, could you also show me how to make the Trainer Shirt of Red? Or is it made by Sewing? Really man, i can't sew...
Please... I want to know how to do that stuff... Everyone on internet has the same made t-shirt and cap like you and Herutsuichi!
I want to be a pokΓ©mon Trainer 2!

Yo man, hope ur doing gd. U know, Im still having problems with my Wii, but a friend of mine told me he'd help me with my problem 2morrow, so I'll probly give u my FC next week. Regarding the P. Trainer costume... in my personal opinion its the easiest Brawl costume one could ever make, and its fun 2. Well, the cap is rather easy...what I did, was that I bought the red cap (at Lids in my case, cause its a store that specializes in caps), and I bought white fabric 4 making the Pokeball symbol on the cap. I made a semi-circular pattern 2 ensure that the semi-circle came out as perfect as possible. Oh, buy glue specialized 4 fabrics 2. And I also made a pattern 4 the white cover on the cap. I'd say the hardest part is the red jacket, which I had 2 pay a person who specialized in sewing 2 make it, so I really wouldn't know how 2 do it myself. It was rather cheap in my case, since i only had 2 pay $25 for it. But don't worry, ppl who knew about sewing told me that the jacket isn't hard 2 make, so u should b able 2 find ppl who would charge u cheap in order 2 make it. Everything else u have 2 buy of stores, the shoes I got @ Champs, the black bands @ Hot Topic, the Vs Seeker I made from a box, the backpack (which I still have 2 modify) from a random store, and the pokeball from a KB Toys toy. Hope it comes out great man, U'll do an awesome P.Trainer, haha. l8trz

X-Rho-X In reply to Bueros [2008-09-13 20:06:56 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, PT's pretty easy compared 2 most of the brawlers, ok, rubber or the japanese practice swords I heard from a friend that they can b bought through ebay...though I dont remember how much they cost. The red area of the jacket is basically regular fabric, but the white areas r made of cotton fabric. take care man, l8trz

BTW. I taught that Peach's or Mario's costume was the more easiest. Or from Ness and Lucas... But PT is also more human stuff... He looks easy in deed...

Awesome, dude. Hmmm, perfect teammate 4 Red...? Id guess its (in my case) either Wolf or Ike, I dunno, but I believe powerhouses r the best combination with him, since u can choose from the 3 styles of fighting with Red, it never hurts 2 have a powerhouse as a teammate, and if u just wanna finish off a fight quick, u just switch 2 Charizard, lol. My poke fave is definitely Charizard. But hey, Lucario and Pikachu r also gd combinations 4 Red, it all depends on fighting styles, I guess.

Bueros In reply to X-Rho-X [2008-06-21 18:46:01 +0000 UTC]
Ike + PokΓ©mon Trainer (Charizard) is also awesome! :>
I like Fire Swordsmans with gold blades and a Fire Monsters as Team mates.
Wolf? I dunno. Anyway, i always wonder if Red never tried in Brawl to catch non-human creatures like Fox, Sonic, Kirby and Yoshi.
Then it would be like this: "Wild Sonic Appeared! Go Ivysaur! *After Sonic's defeat* PokΓ©ball go! *You've catched... Sonic!* PokΓ©dex number ???"

Your cosplay is excellent, you look exactly like Red, even down to the shoes and backpack XD. I have decided to cosplay as Red for AX and wanted to know how you made/bought the things for your costume.

Thanx man. Well, getting the costume together wasn't that hard... I bought the armbands at Hot Topic, and they cost $2 at most, the jeans, well I had em from b4, as for the black t-shirt as well. The backback cost me $10 at a random store. The most expensive part was the shoes, which I got at Champs for $65. I made the Vs Seeker using construction paper and a box, I also costumized the red cap by making the symbols on it in fabric, and I had the jacket made since I dunno anything bout sewing...lol. Hope your cosplay comes out gd man, gd luck!

Thanx man, yeah, I made most of it. It wuz fun 2 go out and look 4 those everyday clothing items that looked like the ones Red wears in both Smash and FR/LG Versions. The only thing I didn't do, was the red jacket, since I dunno anything bout sewing... so I had it made... It was my 1st cosplay ever, and I have 2 admit, it wuz definitely fun. (BTW, the pic was taken on March/2/2008, not 1/1/05)
