Yeah he'd probably end up emo in high school. The one thing I find very consistent with Butters in fan works is adding a darker edge to him (I did it myself, read South Park: Rise of Professor Chaos on fanfiction.net). It's a darker edge that's only applied to Cartman in the series, but conceivably Butters would have it too considering what he lives through.
Actually these images kind of fit with what was in my head for my fanfic, I'm actually surprised.
