Remember when Naruto was good?

This is a fanart of that lively and usually totally off-topic-from-the-plot variety of illustrations Kishimoto did in the earlier days. From relaxing in a place of a far off memory, to soaring on birds, he had me captured not with the plot, but the imagination.

So here I made a giddy scene of Naruto spazzing, and Sakura being saved by Sasuke from her exploding glider.






(note- I fixed some mistakes in the lineart while coloring this, so you might want to look out for things like the uneven wing placement on Naruto's glider and some other stuff I don't remember)

FUCK YES YOU ARE THE FIRST PERSON TO ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

I want to buy Kishimoto's illustration book, and pretend shippuden doesn't exist. He's trying WAY too hard with the plot. The Shikamaru arc was the only good arc in shippuden.

Some of shippuden's okay, but it's when every chapter starts with Sasuke and ends with Sasuke that it's going to far.

I know Kishimoto's trying to get the plot rolling, but he IS trying to hard. I mean, in an interview, he said he has the last page already drawn out, so he must just be trying to get to that point. I just hope that NARUTO doesn't turn into SASUKE! xD

IONNO. I was coloring it and suddenly realized that the gliders don't have any electrical bits to them, so I suppose Deidara is an arial bomber in the world they're in. :0

(yes I maybe sorta did make up an entire plotline for them while doing lineart)
