Description
This is the third yarn tail I have made, and the first one I've decided is of high enough quality to sell! My kitty helped me make it, and continued helping right through the photo shoot! Sweet kitty~Measuring 18", hand crafted out of 100% acrylic yarn, this artificial tail is super silky soft and fluffy.

The trick to getting a tail to turn out silky is to first start with a good quality yarn, then after brushing the tufts out you use a straightening iron on them, brush again to minimize the number of overlapping fibers, and hit them up with the straightening iron a second time. That second brushing and ironing really makes a difference. Starting with a good yarn is the biggest factor, though.

You are welcome! Before these yarn tails I've made I hadn't really worked with yarn at all either. I tried crocheting a scarf once, but I gt 1/3 of the way through and saw that I had missed 5 loops already so there were little holes here and there in that third of the scarf, so I just unraveled the whole thing and decided to try again later. That was 3 years ago. I haven't tried to make another scarf yet. XD Partially because I have three awesome scarves already, and partially because the reward of a scarf doesn't seem to be worth the hours and hours I would spend crocheting the thing...
Anyways, the moral of the story is I worked with yarn once before, but I knew practically nothing about it until I started research into how yarn tails do.

Thanks so much! I enjoy making these, and the outcome of this one was well worth the effort that went into learning how to make these. My first two looked alright, but overall were less than stellar. The first one's fur was spaced too thinly, and I overcompensated for the second one and made it too thick. XD The second one also wasn't very durable, I majorly upped my efforts to make sure that this third one will last for whoever ends up owning it.
I've been wearing the second one I made around to test the all around durability of these yarn tails and one tuft of fluff has come off and one more is in the middle of trying to come apart. BUT I figured that would happen, and that's why I didn't put my second one up for sale.

I will definitely be making more premade tails in the future, please do watch to see when those drop. The next one I have planned will be a white and grey wolf tail, leaning towards the lighter side.
I'm also opening up for commissions on these, though I haven't posted the journal announcing my openings yet. I'm starting with 5 openings for the winter quarter, and 2 of those 5 have been claimed.
