Description

After months of not finishing her, mainly due to uncertainties in her design, I made something out of this sketch. Zorya, on the surface, seems to be a pretty basic bear-person, but upon closer inspection, you might notice her eyes. While I've been dabbling in the idea of making her a "horned" bear-person, to make a mythical bear-like race, only very recently did I take inspiration from the Ursa Major/minor myth to make her (and her kin) related to the cosmos. Basically, she looks fairly mundane when she's not using an excessive amount of power, but when she is, she looks more spectral, looking like a manifestation of the stars. The name of her kind is undecided, mostly cause I'm not sure if I'll keep the mythical theme she currently uses.

I imagined her having an obvious Russian/Slavic thing going on, particularly in her voice/accent. She seems brutish, but in actuality she's pretty friendly. She's, naturally, physically strong, and I figure she mostly relies on just her fists to deal with problems. In my current rough idea for a "beginning" of this story, Fenella encounters her pretty early in.

As noted, she is still technically in concept stage, so her design could change if I feel the need to
