I haven't played this game (or any FE game for that matter, unless you count maining Ike in Smash Bros 4, which would be quite a stretch), and I kind of know what a good chunk of the characters are like, but I might have an idea for that comic.
Perhaps he's telling her how much he appreciates her for being a loyal ally and a hard worker, and she's trying not to lose her cool in the midst of her crush giving her all the compliments?

From a lore reason, these two can't be paired up because Cordelia is the Catria to Chrom's Marth.
Gameplay reason? Cordelia gives the best stats for a child of ANY of the 1st gen mothers, and Chrom gives the best stats for fathers. A Cordelia-mothered Lucina would be a 1-woman army, and a Chrom-fathered Severa would have Aether..... AKA another 1-woman Army.
Especially with their reclass options potentially giving them Dark Flier and the Galeforce ability.
You could literally duo the rest of the game with those two once you grind them up enough.

Well I get reasons but if we can basically ship anyone except direct relatives, why not Cordelia and Chrom? Even if we get OP kids, people can still choose not to pair them up. I just like the option cause it makes sense. Well, that's just me. -.-

Riiiiiight? Pfffft, and Erza seems to have just as much trouble hooking up with Jellal as Cordelia does with Chrom xD I also wish they changed Cordelia's supports and other things up depending upon whether or not she was already married.

Speaking of people to ship...Gotta make one shipping Lon'qu and Lucina. I just thought that the banter between the two would be hilarious. Considering that Lucina kicked his rear in a duel all because halfway through the fight Lon'qu realized Marth (AKA Lucina) was a woman. Oh the banter.

Here's a challenge: Give me a reasonable pairing with King Gangrel. O.o Most people can't; Even I cringe at the thought of trying lol. It's so weird pairing anyone with him. Assuming no one kills him when they find him.
