Description A photo of cancer cells that has been accepted to Art In Science (ARTiS) contest in Copenhagen this year:
www.facebook.com/ARTiS2016/pho…

I know it's just a little photo, but to me it has a special meaning. You see, the last two years studying Computer Science at University of Copenhagen weren't always easy for me. Among other things, it is because science isn't precisely a piece of cake. It is a lot of frustration. Hard work. Making mistakes. Being wrong. Realizing that your instincts are helpful, but not reliable. Feeling intimidated and overwhelmed, both by your own limitations, the limitations of our tools, and the vast ocean of the unknown.

But then there are moments like this. Finding beauty and wonder along the way. Feeling like a curious child again. And seeing a moon under a microscope.

The last line reminded me a bit of »To see a World in a Grain of Sand«. Maybe that was intentional, maybe not, but I think it might fir just as well here

It definitely has a lunar quality to it and congratulations to get it accepted by that contest. It's nice to see Kasia's artistic side again instead of just the stressed, panicked, thesis-writing one

I hope that vast ocean of the unknown has become a little more reachable than the moon, at least in part. And remember that discovery and learning new things will never cease, hopefully including more beauty and wonder. You'll end up discovering more islands of knowledge in that ocean. And while parts of it will remain unknown, perhaps just like a dark side of your moon here, others will know those parts and help you navigate them.

I should sleep and not stretch those metaphors too far, I guess

I was very happy to see your comment! Thank you
Can't keep the artistic side up for too long yet though, one more exam left...

I think the metaphors were stretched just right Beautifully put!

Well, I still hope that artistic side will return in time It has been something that has existed for quite a while, it shouldn't just disappear in work. But good luck on your exam.
