This is one of those drawings that was in my head that I had to put down half asleep for some reason XDThe thought I had was, It's not the shape of the mouth that makes the expression. It's WHICH muscles you show in work that makes an expression more intense. That's why learning about what muscles do what (contract the mouth, lift the upper lip) and what it looks like when the skin folds when the muscle is being used is so important. So it's not just adding details, it's adding the "right" details?
Add the specific muscle movements with the position of the teeth and you get something new!
It might not make sense, but it really helped me figure something out. I just went ahead and colored my sketch in Photoshop, and I hope it helps someone XDD!

Well like everyone else here: one million thanks. As said also: your work is a theoretical one for sure and a pretty well done. Considering its general theoretical approach it helps in several matters linked to "emotions making. I'm designing 3D characters (well that's a big word, I'm pretty much more a little newbie than everything else) and have been struggling for animations. Was only left with the jaw and mouth, not finding my way and you actually helped me out with this night work. Thanks a million. Again.

I had just been thinking that I needed to delve into another study the shapes of the mouth so that I could add some more creative expressions to my palate. This is perfect, and your realistic style provides an excellent "this is how it is" base for interpretation into any style.
