Description Coraline (2009) was the first full length feature film Laika released. It was critically acclaimed and displayed a technical prowess that had never before been seen in the production of a stop-motion animated movie. The film itself was reminiscent of Alice In Wonderland in the sense that it involved a young girl entering a strange, parallel world. The titular character must rescue herself, her parents, and the souls of dead children from the clutches of a manipulative and fearsome beast referred to as her "Other Mother" or "Beldam."

Coraline was the film that made me fall in love with Laika and drove me to follow progress on all of their productions. The book the film is based off of has been one of my favorites ever since I read it, and the film itself is practically stop-motion porn with how well it's designed and animated. Also, blue hair. That's the good stuff.

Don't talk to strangers. Especially the ones in your wall with button eyes and leads you by rats. Didn't your parents ever teach you that?

You should use common sense. A hole in the wall and rats are no good for you.
