Description Any good merchant knows the taller the customer the deeper their pockets....

as you might tell from her disheveled hair, shes been on the road awhile and is in human territory... she could use some wine.

love the way the merchant's eye just locks on to the giant pouch of gold

and for some reason she crossed her legs when bowing down to talk to the merchant.... oh well^^

I have to agree on that one aye Wow...But for a giant like herself she must need a lot more then regular costumers...what if the merchant can't compete with her demands...the goes your future of owning a big house on the hill

I think you're a spot to hard on yourself, regarding your own drawing. The limb proportion issues don't stand out at all, and overall it flows rather naturally. The face is prettymuch perfect, and the signpost fills me with raw, unadulturated envy.

It's a lovely image, by any standard.

I suppose, but I wont improve if I get complacent. That's most of were that comes from. I know there is so much more I can do I nit pick to make myself get there. Not to worry, its not me getting down on myself.

..."the signpost fills me with raw, unadulturated envy." made my day^^ thanks!

Truly. I feel my problem with my visual art is perfectionism. I become easily discouraged when thing's don't work...and more often when they do!

Figure I'll give a few new approaches a try...And I'll show you anything that sucks too much to post, promise. ^^

lol, well you don't have to show me as long as you keep at it. seriously for every 10 bad there will be an improvement, the more improvements the more likely there come up on there own latter.

Oh, I meant more accurately I'd send you some of the sketches and things I'd never bother to post...

Oh jeez, I know the practice makes perfect speech.

I still advise you to work the proportion of the limbs though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WOWandWAS In reply to resizer [2007-11-30 02:05:56 +0000 UTC]

hrmmm yeah, i make legs too long and it makes the arms look off and then it gos all wonky... working on it... unfortunately i suck at drawing from reference...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

resizer In reply to WOWandWAS [2007-11-30 02:18:25 +0000 UTC]

Well here's my suggestion: when drawing by reference don't draw every single detail. Just circles for the joints and the outlines connecting them is more than enough

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WOWandWAS In reply to resizer [2007-11-30 02:31:01 +0000 UTC]

oh i do the wire frame. i make the head, hip, knee, ankle, elbow, wrist circles... adn the spine curve.... i just make em to big... it always look better in that state actually >.> ...hmmm but i guess plotting it to a ref might work better than just randomly drawing them where the feel good ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

resizer In reply to WOWandWAS [2007-11-30 03:51:23 +0000 UTC]

Refs are the best place to start, especially when you don't have enough practice to tell proportions by eye (no offense)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WOWandWAS In reply to resizer [2007-11-30 04:02:47 +0000 UTC]

none taken, I know i am stylizing it some and just not getting it in other places.... all that mids eye not being reality thing ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

resizer In reply to WOWandWAS [2007-11-30 17:03:47 +0000 UTC]

Personally I think you could stylize even more. Most wrinkles in the clothes are superfluous when just doing linework
And the eye can be trained. It took me forever but it's not impossible
