Hihihi, yes growing up in belgium means growing up with Tintin. Everyone here is so proud our ginger reporter made it to hollywood.

I am!It would be an amazing place...if only someone would take care of it. Instead the government is just so corrupted and is just messing around, so the amazing art and places are just falling to pieces...:T not good... but the food is still delicious!Always wanted to visit Belgium too btw! I am studying French and other languages at school, but I'm afraid I'm not very good at it...( Since I'm bilingual and my mother comes from denmark I kind of sound like a nazi while talking French...XD haha sorry for that...)

Our goverment is making a big mess as well, they rather appear in every single talk show and quiz on tv instead of doing their job.Β

I come from the flemish part in Belgium, we don't speak french there.Β
I really should work on my french though...Β

No is speak dutch! Flemish to be precise.Β
However flemish and german do sounds similar. Yet we can't understand each other.Β
You do have this german part in Belgium as well, but it's very small compared to the french and flemish part.Β
But yes indeed most people link Belgium with french, while the biggest part of Belgium is actually Flemish.Β
This is because in the past, the flemish people were farmers and very poor, while the french part was rich and in controle of the entire country, so ofcourse they had a lot more contact with the outside world.Β
Now it's kinda the other way around though, there's a lot more wealth in the flemish part.Β
A big part of our taxes goes to the french part because they can't get by with just their money alone.
Brussels,where Tintin lives, is the capital so you have both french and flemish people there.
However it's really sad....these two parts don't get along at all. They're always in conflict for the most stupid reasons. So Brussels these days isn't the most pleasant place to be.Β
If only they'd let the people handle it, things would get better asap.Β
But the politicians decide everything and they only think about their wallets.Β

I've never experienced personally, but I've heared from others on here that this is the home of lots of drama.Β
Artists should support each other though.Β
Especially if it's your dream to make money with it one day... It's not easy to get by as an artist.Β

I fully agree!I can imagine that there can be a lot of rivalry and opinions that go against each other, but I think it should be "each his own" and that artist should be united, not fighting each other, we're all doing this for the seme cause!
