Talon Karrde and one of his pet Vornskr from the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn.In preparation for The Force Awakens I've been rereading the Thrawn Trilogy to get back in the Star Wars spirit. To anyone that hasn't read them, they are super good. I do object to how some of the characters have been subsequently portrayed in comics, character guides, etc though. Specifically I really don't like the way that Talon Karrde has been drawn in the comics. It doesn't match with his description in the book at all, and he looks really scuzzy. So this is my version of the character.

haha. Yeah. I've been tearing through the Thrawn trilogy. I think I'll finish Last Command by the end of the week. I am having a very hard time letting it go.
There was some pretty terrible stuff that came out of the EU though, so I'm not entirely bummed that they scrapped it.

Pretty much. And trying to remind myself what I loved about the Star Wars series. I have been more than a little disillusioned by the Prequel/Clone Wars stuff.

RIght now my husband and I are nerding it the f up and just straight-up re-writing the Prequels/Clone Wars. We're thinking about starting a blog with the writing and illustrations...let me know if you'd be interested. It's a healing process for us. That's a fun idea. I honestly think that ANYONE could have written a better prequel series. Let me know when you start rolling with that.
If you're going to keep Jar Jar in it, please tell me you are following the theory that he is actually a dark Jedi! I will check those out though.

If you've ever read "Heir to the Empire" by Timothy Zahn he is in that book series. Audible recently had the whole trilogy for a free download. this isn't much of a spoiler, but when jabba died he kinda took control of the cartel. He's one of my favorite scoundrels in the expanded universe
