Thank you! I've been told that she has never worn these colors (see message below).

I'm glad you like them!

I REALLY like your color scheme for this character. She has never worn these colors. Shame on you for making her a redhead Very nice, rich colors! Great make-up as well.

Thank you. The color scheme started with the eyes and flowed from there. Looking back at it now, I was clearly inspired by the striking green eyes on 's icon.

As you can tell from my other posts, I have a penchant for redheads (and green eyes, too).

I'm embarrassed to say that I hadn't heard of Polaris (although I read X-Men comics as a kid - many moons ago) and had no idea what she should look like, but I really liked windriderx23's awesome lines and had to color it. Fortunately I did a google search on her and realized that red hair would never do.

What kind of painting program did you use for this?

This drawing was colorized using Paint Shop Pro 4.0

After reducing the color depth and saving the file as a .GIF, I then used the versatile color substitution tool to go over 's beautiful lines and change them from black to another color.

Then I used the same tool to change the white areas to other colors, occasionally using the color fill tool also.

Then increased the color depth back to .JPG levels, softened the image and saved it as a .JPG.

Thank you very much!!! I started with the eyes, and wanted her outfit to match...

As mentioned, the green hair was an afterthought (after I googled Polaris and saw that she had green hair!)

I've been experimenting with outlining in lighter colors ...

I have to confess that I haven't seen an X-Men comic in about 30 years, and wasn't familiar with the character, but I really liked your drawing and had to color it! I was really fun and challenging to do.
