i think i ever see the sentai (japanesse rangers) have a robot like this
red = eagles
blue = dolphin
yellow = lion
black = bison
green = rhino

the reason why is.... because there are soooo many japanese robots with wings and a lion head on its chest, in fact, there are at least two sentai robots similar to this one.

Yeah, there's a ton of japanese robots... I beleive the phrase "everything's been done already" comes into play here.
I know before I looked at any details of this pic, my first impression was GaoGaiGar... he's probably the most famous lion-chested mech that I know of... King of Braves that is.
But eh, in any case, really cool. I would go as far as to venture a "wicked cool" or even "wicked awesome" to be appropriate. Nice work! A lot of people don't do mech stuff well.
