I wonder if it was a geothermic hot spot that was letting off pressure. That is really weird!

I'm not sure there seemed to be the main waves coming in, some rebound from hitting a wall, but you would expect to see that more often if thats the case, best I can figure is maybe the oil was funneling the waves in such a way that they created this when they colided.
