Was watching Iron Giant yesterday and then remembered an old fanfic I read where Superman found The Giant in the arctic, so I figured why not make a pic that's similar.
It should be noted that I intend to include The Iron Giant in My Shared Crossover Universe (SCU) The Guardian-Verse with the idea of Superman having found him. Just need to work out some details.

He's frozen solid basically, alive, but like almost any machine not properly built for the cold, especially in a place like the arctic, he circuits are frozen, hence why there's not light in his eyes. When he's brought back to HQ they manage to thaw him out, in the G-Verse he'll have been frozen since 1957, his body will have mostly been repaired by then but the freezing cold forced him to shut down.
