He's a Space Marine.  They are strong enough to do that, unlike Imperial Guardsman who go into battle with flashlights.

But these aren't boltpistols. They are held with 2 arms not just because Codex says so.

A Space Marine's power armour augments their already prodigious post-human strength, thus enabling them to do so.  Furthermore, a Space Marine in terminator armour can easily fire the more hefty storm bolter one-handed like it's an Uzi.
