Fantastic concept & image, great colour & dynamicness ... very simple in it's composition, but fantastically attractive in its viewing ... the title sums it up brilliantly!! Checked this out after viewing the black & white image ... great stuff!!!

The only disappointment in this image ... as it distracts the viewers eyes from the mesmerizing hands & spinning motion, yep ... the watch on the arm!!
Sorry, just that way to my eyes ...

i think I like the colour most. I like the contrast of it against the artist's hands. Wonderful work with motion as well (like you need me to tell you that )

bigshotdan [2006-06-30 03:01:43 +0000 UTC]

Where'd you shoot it?

Seriously, for me it's not the hands that are mesmerising; it's the art work they're creating. Not to mention the blurring of the wheel as it spins rapidly. I really like this. Nice work...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

witigo In reply to bigshotdan [2006-06-30 07:26:21 +0000 UTC]

yeah, you're right, it's not just the hands, but the whole process, the movement under which the hands don't really act so much...thanks a lot..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bigshotdan In reply to witigo [2006-07-02 09:27:20 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely. It's the movement other than the hands that makes this shot what it is. Very well captured...

slavetoperfection [2006-06-29 21:44:47 +0000 UTC]

Is that reverse psychology? Are you really trying to get me to ask you where you shot the photo?

Well I won't. I deffinitely won't ask you "Where did you shoot that photo?", but only because someone else already asked, and I already know!

It didn't matter anyways, it's a really neat picture no matter where you were.
I love the colors and shapes in this picture, the only thing that I don't like is that the potter is wearing a watch, but obviously that's not something you could have controlled.

Beautiful photo, nice work.

witigo In reply to slavetoperfection [2006-06-30 07:24:21 +0000 UTC]

thanks a lot...But actually I think the watch adds some contrast to the picture..old style craft versus modern times? Guess I'm only justifying..

SeaWhisper [2006-06-29 19:32:40 +0000 UTC]

there sure is something mesmerizing in this photo, wish I had this machine to make pottery

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

witigo In reply to SeaWhisper [2006-06-30 07:20:43 +0000 UTC]

basically, it's just a round board which is made to rotate by stirring it with a stick..Not so clever a machine as those that you can keep moving with your feet..But easier to produce I guess...Thanks anyway...

SeaWhisper In reply to witigo [2006-06-30 07:56:41 +0000 UTC]

Yes but it's not only hard to find but also quite expensive, and more over big, while my room isn't that big However if I manage to obtain this I will show my pottery to whole dA

Where did you shoot this photo?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

witigo In reply to frostbyte68 [2006-06-01 20:02:43 +0000 UTC]

I met this Nepalese potter on the garden exhibition (does something like this exist?) in my hometown in Bavaria where he went because they erected a little Nepalese temple there, too.. A kind of international PR...No big mystery behind it, sorry
