Description l-lol my sad attempt at improvement over the span of 3 years


Just kidding, I wanted to try this meme for fun because I don't usually do dA's drawing memes.

I started CGing in 2009 and it's 2012 and jesus christ does time fly by. I took a bajillion hiatuses throughout the years and I went through a lot of style changes I think. I wish I had CGed more during those 3 years but I can't turn back time, so here we are now.

I wish I had put more effort in making the right side drawing nicer but I left it as a colored sketch because I'm supposed to be doing schoolwork right now So enjoy a messy sketch.

no offense to the people who prefer the 2009, but I really can't see why .__.
the current one has better-positioned facial features, the lighting is more dynamic, there's a better sense of color (not just saturated), and the hair much nicer. overall, it looks more aesthetically pleasing. it's sweet but without the "desu-desu" factor of the before.

you've improved tons, and I'd love to see where your style goes

I guess maybe some people prefer the brighter colors or the simpler composition of the 2009 one. Everyone has their own opinion but I personally like the 2012 one more. ;_; To each their own~

That's understandable because I really didn't put as much effort into the right picture because it was a sketch. The one on the left was a piece that I actually completed with purpose.

Personally I like the one on the right more because I think even though it's a sketch it shows that I've made changes in my drawing and coloring styles. To each their own.

If you're asking about the program I use though, I use Paint tool SAI but I just put the pictures into the meme as it tells you to.

I can't really explain it well. But you download the original blank template and open it in a program like Paint, GIMP, etc. Then, you can open an older piece of yours (for the left side) and copy-paste it to the meme. And on the right side, you can either draw it directly in the box or draw a separate picture then copy-paste it back into the meme.

I mean, having SAI isn't absolutely vital to this meme, it's just the program I use to CG. I don't know what fan or full version refers to but I think I have the full version with an English patch.

Yes, basically you open then copy paste your pictures into the meme, and you might end up having 2-3 files open at a time.
