Description
New sculpt for the week of 12/1/09. One of a kind polymer clay fantasy sculpture by Nicole West.I did a zodiac series a few years ago, but always wanted to revisit several of the signs to do them a different way. This is the first and I'm so surprised at what I captured in her. I hope you enjoy.

This is lovely! What other signs do you plan on recreating?
And I also have another question: how did you get her to stand like that even though most of the weight is at the front of the sculpture? Did you put additional weights at the back part?

Capricorn and Gemini are two that I want to do new renditions of at the moment. Others may follow, you never know.
No, no extra weight at the back. A support rod runs through her tail for balance. I found the perfect balance in the piec while sculpting her.

Yes, I have ideas for a few more. I'm looking to do some interesting interpritaions. Capricorn will be next, after that I'm not sure. I'm always up for suggestions though.

i looked at it,, and then stared, and stared a bit more.... this is amazing, you completely captured the emotion!! and the proportions!!, i love horses and i am a maniac when it comes to proportions, and this is just too perfect, and i mean pure awesomeness. the colors are perfectly rendered, and the dappled look is delightfully random, it is just so hard to actually do something random.... amazing shading and light, this is a masterpiece that i am never gonna get tired of watching....
On a side note, where can i find the rest of the zodiac collection, if it is half as awesome as this, i have to see it... just wow, i am baffled at your pure awesome raw talent....
