I have no idea how to categorize this

Originally a pen and pencil drawing, heavily edited in Word. This is so edited that I don't even know if I can call it mixed media.

This is vastly different from my usual fare.

This started out as a thumbnail of a sea serpent I drew during my Nutrition class. Seen here: fav.me/d6ovsne
I liked him, so I went home, took a photo, threw it in Word for editing, and played with the contrast, sharpness, saturation, temperature, and the artistic effects until I came up with this. I was annoyed at how most of the head detail was left out, but I still really liked how it kept the fin and body outlines while making a cool background, so I decided to keep working with him. I think I can say that this is my favorite piece in my gallery.

Edit: Tweaked the image so that most of the head detail was kept and the colors were more vibrant. Looks much better now.
Edit 2: I found the transparency tool in Word and those results *flail*
