Jeremy Brett was definately the best Sherlock Holmes ever to grace the Silvee Screen. It was also the first accurate dipiction of Watson. Previous incarnations made watson a bumbling, helpless man who is rather dull minded. Where in the original books, and in this series, he is very inteligent, highly skilled as a marksman, doctor, and (after picking up some pointers from Holmes) briliant detective-coroner.

You're quite right about Watson. He was great too (although I'm blanking on the name of the actor at the moment...grrr...). He and Jeremy Brett had great on camera chemistry.

There were two actors who played whatson in the Brett series. First, by David Burke, then by (and more popular of the two) Edward Hardwicke, who also played in most of the films.

Every Holmes prior to Mr Brett was another fandom enduced nail in the coffin for Holmes fans! The only one that people will remember these days will be that fairy Cumberbatch, of whom I detest with every fibre of my being! Or of course Robert Downy Jr, who was a marked improvement, however has totally overshadowed the story with hollywood 'not-neededness'! What was all that 3d anchor papp all about!
Anyway, I could sit here at legnth writing about 'The adventures of Sherlock Holmes', but that would be a waste of both of our times. So goodday to you, and excellent work in keeping this guys adaptation alive ^w^.
