Very nice. I suck at most kinds of traditional color methods, so I'm always in awe of your talent with the watercolors. I love the concept of sand into water, and the wing just BLOWS ME AWAY!!! I love teh wingness. Anyway, The thing that caught my eye about this picture is she looks kinda sad, or maybe just really thoughtful. Who is the quote directed to? definately piques my curiosity

I made this through experimenting with 'light' washes instead of the darker tones I've been using for my other watercolor works. I must admit, I really like the effects light washes give ^_^ And I'm glad you like the figure. I've been whipping myself into studying anatomy, since mine usually sucks so bad >_<

I was going for somehting a bit 'lighter' whan most of my other works. I usually use lots of pigment and really bold colors, but for this, I wanted to try watercolors in a 'watery' way. I'm glad you like it! ^_^

The most important thing, I think, is to have quality paints. Crayola watercolors, for example, aren't going to work at all. Good watercolors are more expensive, but worth it. I actually got an inexpensive watercolor set of 12 colors by a company called Yarka. They were only $6, and they're very good pigments.

Thank you for advice! I'm going to try them then 8) I only have my reaaally old paints and they are kind of..mm.. not so good ^^' black paint makes brownish color.. x'3 plus I have to torment the color 'button' in order to get any color at all O__o'
