Oh I'd like to visit the moonon a rocketship high in the air
yes I'd like to visit the moon
But I don't think I'd like to live there...
Though I'd like to look down on the earth from above,
I would miss all the places and people I love
So although I may like it, for one afternoon,
I don't want to live on the moon.
I would like to visit the sea, and see all the fish everywhere
Yes I'd like to visit the sea, but I don't think I'd like to live there
I could stay for a day there, if I had my wish
But there's not much to do if your friends are all fish
and an oyster or clam aren't real family, so I don't wanna live in the sea
I want to visit the jungle, hear the lions roar
Go back in time and see a dinosaur
There are so many strange places I want to be
But none of them permanently....
So if I should visit the moon, well I'll dance on a moonbeam and then
I'll make a wish on a star, and I'll wish I was home once again
Though I'd like to look down on the earth from above
I'd miss all the places and people I love
So although I may go, I'll be coming home soon
Cuz I don't wanna live on the moon.

Me too, but technically I'm too "old" so I keep my love of it secret... It's a lot better then most kids shows nowadays.
I actually celebrate Oscar the Grouches birthday (June 1st) cause both of us were born in the same month.
Oh, and you should see the song. It's basically cookie monster (Of course) speculating that the moon looks like a cookie, and he starts off thinking it would be great to fly up there and eat some of it. In the dream sequance, he eats a little too much and suddenly is plunged into darkness and realises that he just ate the main thing lighting up the night sky.

Personally, Sesame Street's got too many songs that I like. I still sing stuff like "Alligator King"(THAT SONG IS ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE) "Martian Beauty" and "Ladybugs Picnic" to myself when nobody's around. Practically ANYTHING Oscar the Grouch sings brings a smile to my face, and I've always had a soft spot for how Cookie Monster's obsession affects his choice of songs.
