been trying to practice sketching with my android tablet. i love using autodesk to sketch, but not so much for coloring since it limits you to only 3 layers. so... i'm gonna try this in photoshop touch next time i think.Β(also... if anyone has suggestions for good android art programs, i'm all ears)

Nice. Have you tried the new sketchbook app yet? Not that expensive and a lot of layers and new tools.

i have a hard time actually importing pictures into touch. like... unless i start the whole thing there, it won't let me save a picture from sketchbook express and bring it over to ps touch... unless i save it to a specific folder, then dig around for that folder... or, as i have done a couple of times recently, sketch something on paper and then take a picture of it and draw over that. lol

well... it's not that i don't know how, it's just a pain in the ass to do it. (your comment really sounds more like "ha! you can't do that? you idiot!" lol) though maybe it has to do with where i'm saving my files on autodesk apps... they're burried in a bazillion subfolders. on android. which seems to hate subfolders.Β

Sorry, wasn't trying to sound that way! Β I just don't have any issues importing, not even when getting the right files. Β But I also don't use that other app either so don't have buried files issues lol

I have to ask, being a fellow tablet user, what do use to do your linework? I can't get lines like that for the life of me...Β

i'm using autodesk sketchbook xpress. it seems to work pretty well for sketching but past that i just don't have enough layers to do much colorwise. it limits you to three. to get the lines straight though, i'll sometimes cheat and use the the line tool... though i hate doing that too much because then it feels like the drawing comes out like a ms paint picture. >.< aside from that i have i use photoshop touch and i've just downloaded one called "artflow" but i haven't messed with it much. it seems very similar to SAI though. so hopefully that'll help.Β

I just recently found Artflow on the Amazon App store and have been enjoying using the free version. I'd like to find out what the full version costs - did you happen to try it?

I use Tool paint sai for all my works (Total noob here. XDD) and it works fine for me, but i find that trying to find a good painting app for an android or ipod takes money, and most of them are coloring pages.Β

i wish SAI was on android... i used it a little before and really liked it. 
there's like a ton of coloring page apps. lol my daughter tends to really like those.Β

I tried using PS, but i got confused with all the new buttons and tools..too confusing for me. XDD

true. it took me awhile to get used to the more recent photoshop layouts (i guess i use CS5.1 rather than just PS5...d'oh). I think I've finally gotten used to it... or at least for what I use it for which is generally pretty limited.Β
