This is beautiful. I love the textures and traditional painterly feel you've captured with the brushes you've used. It looks like an unfussy way of painting, with details suggested rather than actually given to you, so my mind can fill in the blanks - if that makes any kind of sense.
I really love the overall tone of it (the black and orange colours as well as the use of shadows with the single lightsource) and the concept is a favourite for me, too. I love microbats (fruitbats specifically, and with the fox-like face on yours, that's what I saw it as straight away) but they don't seem to appear very much in paintings like this; quiet and simple but stunning. Plus, with autumn leaves and lanterns - two more of my favourite things - this just speaks to me on some level.
