It may be one of Disney's more underappreciated movies but I love, love, love Marahute, the giant golden eagle from Disney's The Rescuers Down Under. That and the film score is a really nice treat too.

Travelling with my faithful birdie
On the outback trail, where I feel comfy
I met two strange friends, they made me curious
They took me in and gave me breakfast
And they said:
"Do you come from a land down under?
Where heroes glow and villains plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder
You don't stop, our journey is not over"
Then I met a sinister man, who was ready to tussle
He was six foot four and full of muscle
A poacher, fear and cruelty were his language
With a lizard that wanted to eat me like a sandwich
And he said:
"I come from a land down under
I hunt, I cage, I kill, that's how I prosper
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover!"
But I wasn't gonna lose Marahute that day
We defeated the poacher, and me and me friend parted ways
They saved my bird, they saved me
And now I travel my land, happy and free
And I said:
"I come from a land down under
A land of beauty, a land of wonder
My free spirit can't be torn asunder
And my quest to nurture nature will never be over"

This was one of my favourite movies as a child (and still is), dare I say I even prefer it to the original Rescuers.

I love this movie when I was little!! Hell, I still do!! The animation is spectacular, the characters are fun, it's a great adventure flick, wonderful score, it's in Australia (I'm part Aussie lol), I just love it. It's VERY overlooked, which baffles me cause this is one of Disney's best sequels. Well, I still treasure this movie. ^^

Rescuers was one of my favourite Disney movies when I was a kid. Down Under was pretty good too... and they were original stories, which I prefer over the "remakes" that Disney prefers to do.

AUGH I LOVE that movie, so much. Even better than the first one--a lot less dark in my opinion, and so full of adventure. It helps that there's all the critters of the outback in it. Man, thanks for sharing this!
