how did you make the picture so "bright"?

It's simple: I color normaly then I duplicate color layer and merge them. Put this layer over all the layers and make it in "overlay" (not sure if it's that, I use a french version of photoshop), and in filters Blur > Gaussian Blur (not sure again).
That's all. ^^
