Personality:
Social: Sparrowpaw is a social butterfly. She is friendly, outgoing and great at making friends. Although Sparrowpaw often keeps her inner thoughts to herself, she is never at a shortage of words. Talking and playing with friends is one of her favorite activities, and to others she appears to be just a friendly, relaxed cat.

Sympathetic: Sparrowpaw has a lot of empathy for others, and she is a great cat for troubled cats to talk to. She is known for being one of the best at keeping secrets and will always try to help as best as she can. She can often sense when another had a bad day, as well, and she is not shy about asking if someone is okay, or if they need anything. She loves helping and she loves feeling as if she is a positive part of another’s life.

Easy-going: Sparrowpaw is very patient. She doesn’t usually raise her voice, and it takes a lot to get her angry. She is great with those younger than her, or those with egos and more aggressive personalities.

Reserved: Sparrowpaw is not always one who is honest or speaks her mind. She is often afraid to speak out because she does not want others to think less of her. She is afraid of showing disappointment or sadness outwardly, and she is especially afraid of showing anger, because she is afraid showing these emotions or opinions will spark anger or dislike among her friends.

Trusting: Sparrowpaw trusts almost anyone who is kind to her. This can be good when she is dealing with honorable cats because they often appreciate her trust in them. She especially trusts her friends, even with her life. Of course when dealing with cats who are two-faced, or who have dishonorable intensions, Sparrowpaw can be blindsided and badly hurt. If this were to happen, Sparrowpaw would be devastated, but she would not learn from the experience, believing that perhaps that one cat was bad, but that does not mean anything in terms of her other friends or relationships.

Reliant: Sparrowpaw depends on others greatly. She needs to feel as if she is loved and she needs to feel as though others care about her. She needs companionship and dislikes being alone. Although she, as any cat, will enjoy a nice quiet walk on her own to reflect or patrol in silence, Sparrowpaw always needs to have friends to go back to and lovely memories and future hopes to fill her little mind in order to be happy.

Restless: Sparrowpaw is a worrier. She cares deeply about others, and if they are in danger she gets very frightened and upset. Her mind is a pool of “what ifs” and she would always prefer to be out in the battlefield with them than at home left to wonder if they are okay. Sparrowpaw always feels like she is responsible for the wellbeing of those around her, and gets stressed unnecessarily due to this.

Reckless: Sparrowpaw is not always one who thinks things through completely. While she has a pretty good head on her shoulders, she is most likely going to act on impulse out of fear an opportunity will pass than stop and think about all her options. For example, if she is startled her first instinct is to fight back without a question, her reasoning being that at least she may have the element of surprise if her foe is not expecting an immediate attack, and if she were to wait or run that may give them time to attack her first. This way of thinking, or rather lack of fully thinking, can certainly land her in more trouble than necessary.

Brief Backstory:
Pre-Birth
Mottleclaw and Leafpelt were both born and raised in ShadowClan. Mottleclaw became a warrior at an early age due to his knack for fighting and hunting. Leafpelt was born after Mottleclaw was already a warrior, but Mottleclaw paid little attention to the little she-kit. Until she was assigned as his apprentice. Mottleclaw was at first a bit frustrated with Leafpelt’s submissive and nervous tendencies, but soon he learned how to be patient and work with her gentle nature and the two became very close. When Leafpelt became a warrior, Mottleclaw could not be more proud, and that was when he began to notice how beautiful she was, and the feelings were reciprocated by Leafpelt, who felt that Mottleclaw was the only cat who really understood her. The two fell in love and Leafpelt was quite young when they became mates. Mottleclaw, afraid for his mate’s safety during the kitting, insisted that they wait to have kits. They were mates for several seasons before Mottleclaw and Leafpelt could wait no longer and Leafpelt became pregnant. The two were overjoyed, even if Mottleclaw a bit nervous.

Kithood
The kits were born without a fuss. Two kits, a small tabby she-cat they named Sparrowkit and then a dark brown tabby they named Mudkit. The kits were showered with love and affection by their parents, and Sparrowkit had a wonderful kithood. She was great with her little brother Mudkit, but found him quite a handful sometimes, due to his boundless energy and confidence. Unfortunately, Mudkit grew sick due to having escaped camp and eaten deathberries without knowing they were poisonous. When he was found it was already too late. Sparrowkit does not remember her brother much, since she was quite young when it happened, but she feels a fair amount of guilt because of his death, mostly because the few memories she does have involves her looking out for him. She wished she could have been there to save him. Her parents were naturally devastated at the loss, and very guilty themselves. Sparrowkit was choked by them after that. They never let her leave their sight. Sparrowkit was not a naturally independent or willful kit, but even so she often felt overwhelmed and frustrated with how overprotective they were. While she knew her parents meant well, she was only too happy to become an apprentice and have a bit of space.

Early Apprenticeship
Sparrowpaw became an apprentice at 6 moons of age and has been training hard to become a warrior her Clan can be proud of. Her parents continued to be a bit of a problem as she trained, questioning her mentor constantly, and even talking to her friends. Sparrowpaw was embarrassed and eventually was forced to sit them down and tell them that she was not a kit anymore and she had to be on her own now. It took some time, and some gentle reminders, but her parents soon saw how they were stressing their daughter and learned to let her be independent. Sparrowpaw has never been able to fully spread her wings as of yet, for still she has a dependent nature and bonds closely with those she cares about. But she is working hard to become her own cat and do the best she can for her family in ShadowClan.

Roleplay Sample: Sparrowpaw bounded out of the apprentice den. She tried to stifle a yawn, teeth flashing in the morning sunlight as she lifted a creamy paw to block it. She glanced around the ShadowClan camp with her bright yellow eyes. The camp was alive with activity this morning; all cats had woken up early on such a beautiful summer day. Sparrowpaw felt her heart flutter in excitement as she thought about her day to come. Hunting with her mentor, succulent lunch, perhaps more training or patrolling, and then a relaxing evening playing with her friends. The pale brown tabby bounded toward the fresh-kill pile where she saw her mentor chatting with another cat. She would not interrupt the warriors, but she approached in a way that her mentor could see her, so it would be known that she was ready for the day.
