I actually think Crona's childhood was worse.
Ashura was born the way he is. He choose his own path and never regret it. He became a kishin by his own will. He had a normal life, friends, a weapon partner, a caring father, and he throwed that away.
Crona was forced into that path. He was born being a kind, gentle child who couldn't kill unless starved for five days. He never had friends as a toddler, or even a hug from his mother. Even at the end he gave up his life to protect his only friend.
Dammit, Crona should be the one getting a pat in the head! ;_____;

Though this comic is meant to illustrate how much more gruesome Asura's childhood is, but of course when it comes to whom suffered more from their childhood, Crona "wins" hands down. Β
