Awwwwww......pretty kitty! It is kind of funny how you take a lot of pictures of an animal and you really think they know you. It's the same way when I go see Onyo.

That's so true! A couple zoos that I go to have the names of their animals on their website fact sheets. Onyo is one of two male lions they have, the other is his brother Tango. Onyo is the prettier lion and we wanted to know which one was Tango and which one was Onyo. The person actually had to look for a scar to tell them apart. LOL

i think the subdued/mildly shadowy lighting enhances the mood of this picture... he looks a bit "put off". vibrant happy color, i think, would look forced.
whereas i suggested more contrast in another shot i say this shot has just enough
he just came from a swim, no? were he all sleek and groomed it would be different. i think his mussed coat goes well with his expression
