Well, I agree about her. If she won't take some initiative herself, nobody will help her. That's partly why he treats her like that, he takes her submissiveness as cowardice and bootlicking. But don't worry, if he tries hard enough she will snap eventually...
By both, he thought such low behavior doesn't fit Thalmor standards, and felt uneasy seeing the effect of what he said (also seeing how uncomfortably close to her he got).

Hmmm, he is kinda happy, but that's because he reminded himself visiting Imperials and pushing them around and enjoys his superiority.
Actually the closest we ever got to real smile was first panel in A Beast Behind, page 113 , when he was genuinely happy... for one second.
So we still have to wait for that big moment

If he survives the Stormcloaks, shortly after. So not far in the plot, but since I upload just weekly I'm afraid it still may be long wait. But meanwhile I can make a nice drawing of one scene that will probably appear in it ^^
Oh my God, if he wasn't a Thalmor and people disrespected him even more he'd be devastated... On the other hand, he'd never move from Summerset, so maybe he'd feel no pressure to scare anyone.

He's not a complete coward though, he did try to fight several times even though he could've avoided it. The effects weren't great, but still

He seemed to be pretty uncomfortable in the presence of other Thalmor agents though. I think if he is with others of the same status, meaning he can't feel himself to be superior to them, then he becomes tense. What is he without his superiority complex anyway? Just a regular altmer? That's nothing special.

Actually he gets relaxed only with people of the same status around. Normally he'd be happy to see them... But by then he was hanging around with heretic who murdered other Thalmor agents, far away from his official destination, with money from official Thalmor enemy... And he knew his fate would be gruesome if they found out.
