Worked forever on this girl, and I'm glad I did she is beautiful! Of course at first glance she looks like a Teke

Other: Dixie is a sweet girl, which is amazing after all she’s been through. She has some scarring on her front pasterns but they aren’t really visible because of her white markings. Her previous owner rode her hard as a two year old, over trimming her hooves and riding her up and down the pavement to soar her so she could win ribbons with her elaborate, yet painful artificial gait known as the “big lick.” Though the big lick is achievable without soaring, Dixie just didn’t lift her legs high enough to place in her first few shows and her owner allowed the trainer to soar the filly’s front ankles. When stewards disqualified her from a show after finding traces of diesel fuel on her pasterns her trainer resorted to over trimming the front hooves and putting nails in her padded shoes to make her reach higher. When she refused to stand one morning she was listed in the sales catalog that Paige Stud has a subscription to, John Maybe fell in love with the filly and could see that she needed his help. As a beaten and run down three year old she came to Paige Stud to live safely for the rest of her life.
As stated before she is very sweet, touchy about her feet however and new experiences require consistent desensitizing, she isn't fearful just doesn't like new things, and is pretty stubborn about it. You'll never hear a peep out of her though, she's like a church mouse.
Build: An elegant lady with lovely legs and a pretty arching neck and sloping shoulder, her head is a little big and her ears even bigger. A large expressive eye and big feet, long croup and dainty quarters, tail was set by her previous owner, but it will probably drop in a few months and assume a more normal position, then again it may not.
