Even though I'm "Slytherin", McGonagall was one of my favorite characters. The lighting and the coloring remind me of Pottermore. I love your characterization of her expression - plus your artist's footnotes. I love it.Β

I'm a little bit in love with the lighting and atmosphere here, hawt damn. Her expression is so purely McGonagall I can't even.

Great one - just as I imagine her, with the square glasses. And you've caught exactly that 'Umbridge speaks' look. You got a rec on LJ, btw, on the Quibbler Report - that's how I got here.

She was probably the best role model in the books, all things considered. Strict, but fair.

What surprised me most is how they made McGonnagal so old, when there's no mention of that in the books.

i agree. the movies shocked me when they came out bc i always pictured her in her 40s/50s. like according to her birthday she should have been in her mid fifties at the first book, and Maggie Smith was already almost 70 so she was definitely too oldΒ

I remember in book one- Hagrid was mentioned flirting with her once, and I figured, okay, that means she's probably middle aged. I got used to Maggie Smith in the movies- and she isΒ great- but that decision has continued to puzzle me.Β

I really wonder what a non-old McGonnagal would have looked like.
