What was the problem with Chaosium?

I e-mailed them asking about what-all was needed to do Cthulhu mythos art without stepping on their copyright toes, and they never got back to me.
And sorry for the response delay. I'm way behind on my messages.

chaosium only has verdict over RPG material. Not art. Ral partha and Grenadier did Cthulhu minis way back and now FFG has them in Mansions of Madness.

Mi-go are absolutely in the public domain. All of Lovecraft's works are. Chaosium is, however, a bit protective of it when it comes to roleplaying games, the precise legality of which I'm not certain.

Well, I'll re-fire an e-mail inquiry and see what I can see. I'd really like to do this as a set.

This is some great work here. Heh, and I'm old enough to remember when Mi-Go first showed up in AD&D, waaaaay back in the original hardcover edition of 'Deities & Demigods'.

Yeah. However, Lovecraft's stuff was still under copyright, so that edition had to get recalled. It's a real collector's item these days.
