Description Where to begin...This was a poster that I have wanted to do for a long time, but I have always been kind of hesitant to do it.  To begin with we'll say I LOVE the N64 Castlevania games.  They get a lot of unwarranted Hate/Crap, but they are honestly about the best in the series in my opinion.  It is because I hold them in such high regard, is why I have always been hesitant to work on them...mainly because I just want to do them justice, and also I needed to think of a few cool ways to present the dated and familiar material in a new and interesting way.  There is a lot of cool stuff going on in this poster.  I tried to use the Orange Moon and purplish Blue sky colors from the game and work them into the background of the poster.  Dracula himself was inspired by Count Magnus Lee beleive it or not...after watching  the Original Vampire Hunter D Anime I kinda got the idea to Draw Dracula kind of similar to him.  There are so many characters in Castlevania 64, and unfortunately I wasn't able to include them all.  I would have really liked to have drawn Renon and The Chainsaw Frankenstein or a Lizard man, but I quickly ran out of room and didn't want the poster to get too crowded.  I was able to use a lot of actual graphics and game Elements in the game and I think it worked out pretty well.  when you look at the upper area and the tile floor at the bottom it just kind of gives the feel of the "Castle Center" level.  and getting to Finally re-create the Tower of Sorcery area in the backgrounds on the left and right was a real treat.  That is probably one of my favorite levels from any Castlelvania game...with the floating crystal platforms and the  dark shadowy hints of tower walls in the background and Stained Glass Windows shining Moonlight through them...it really gives a unique and cool feel to the whole thing.  I added in Bats to the side areas to kind of give it a sense of Scale, and I think it worked really well, especially when you zoom in and take a look at it.  With Actrice you might say that I "cheated" by just doing a Silouette of her, but really it was mostly done because I felt the poster was becoming too crowded with characters and I needed to think of a cool way to intigrate her into the poster, so  I decided to silouette her with red glowing eyes standing in front of her trade mark crystals.  The Medusa Head and Flea man were actually they last characters that I worked on for the poster and I am very happy with how they turned out.  To be honest I hated the Fleaman design in CV64...when I originally tried to draw it, he just looked like a little Goblin with the green shirtless skin and blue pants... So i decided to blend a few different designs of Fleamen to get what we have here...I used the more contemporaty SOTN fleaman design with the green shirt and kept the green skin to keep the palate similar to the N64 colorscheme for the character, and in the conept art for CV64 you see a little fleaman with a potion/bomb lodged into his head and i LOVED that concept and went with it and I think it turned out pretty cool.  Moving along, Reinhardt as you may notice bears the same pose as Simon Belmont from my original Castlevania poster for the N64 game, but I mostly re-used this pose as a test to see how much my art and skill has improved since that first poster, and when you compare the two it's pretty staggering.  I've Learned a lot about lighting and textures since I began doing these posters last year and I think it's really showing in my art.  ...And last but not least, I Gave him a Chain Whip...mostly because I prefer chain whips as opposed to the Leather Whip design, and hey, he had one in the Legacy of Darkness version of the game...so I figured What the hell...haha.  But anyways I really love how this one turned out, and Hope to have prints available soon! I hope you all Enjoy the poster, it was a labor of love and a Blast to make!  please let me know What you all think in the comments!

Don't be ashamed, man. I also happen to like the N64 titles, but Legacy of Darkness is clearly a step up in better and more intuitive level design from Castlevania 64, while also having better camera angles, somewhat better control, and more ease in climbing up ledges. I find each of the characters, be it Cornell, Henry, Reinhardt, or Carrie, to be very tragic yet very uplifting. It always seems that the most brokenhearted or lost in life end up being the ones to fight Dracula... (Leon, Trevor, Grant, Sypha, Alucard [twice], Belmont's Revenge Christopher, Simon's Quest Simon, these guys, Jonathan Morris, Soma... )

Anyway, long rant aside, awesome poster, man. I always love your take on Castlevania posters. And oh, get this, NETFLIX IS COMING OUT WITH AN "R-RATED AS F*CK" ANIMATED CASTLEVANIA SERIES. It'll sort of like Game of Thrones in its violent but fantastical setting, and will pertain to Trevor and his adventures in Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Look it up. Netflix quietly announced it along with a handful of other shows that it recently announced.
(but it seriously needs to go to Hell with its stupid-ass "Dear White People"...I'm Hispanic, and I find guilting white people completely offensive and off-putting...

I dunno about you, but I'm psyched.
