.......This is a simple piece...but..i really like it alot. It means alot to me, this piece. It's not a serious worked on piece- just...an emotion one I guess. The only thing that will change in future drawings of these two are the poochyena's colors.. I didn't pick those out, but.. I think her colors need to change- or her design XDthese two characters (c) me

haha wow, thanks! And nooooo she's green because my boyfriend chose her colors....and thats what he wanted her to be..She'd actually be a light type. XD shes uh....colored after my eyes

Hey Obi, I never saw this! It's really cute. Anyhoo, you can minimize white space with colored pencil by using a clear blender pencil.

Awwwww, they look cute together. :3 And I love that Growlithe's design. <3 Especially the fur on his head. 
As for the blank space... Well, in GIMP, use the wand-tool and select the white space. Then press ctrl + x. Then save it as a .png-file. When a window pops up check every option it gives(there should be things like "save background colour" or something similar... not sure how it's called in English right).

Hmmm Can I ask for your opinion? should I change the poochyena's colors to the more normal silver/grey coloring or keep this one? I have a sightly different design for her, but I dont' know if I should change the color or not... I've been thinking about changing the color..hmm..

Well, right now I'm quite fine for the circumstances, thanks.
As for the Poochyena... Well, I prefer Pokemon that aren't that colourfull, but I like the earthy colours of this here. But you could give the other design a try. Why not making a picture? Do some outlines and make the base-colour. Do you know how to use the alpha-lock? Because with this you can easily look what colours would fit.^^

Okedoke- I can try that! and err... I'm not so tech savvy...I have no idea what an alpha-lock is, or if they have that in photoshop...sometimes I prefer traditional art simply because I know how to use it more effectively...

The squiggle birds niggle at me.
And my brain is irritating and wants to continue that with an awful rhyme.
Bah.
Their patterning is nice (especially the throat of the growlithe (really nice colour there, too) and 'collar' of the poochyena), though the pupil of the poochyena's right (its right) eye is perhaps a bit too far to the side (again, their right).
It's a nice picture.

Lunapic has a "delete" function for any color you want to get rid of. If you do that to the white background it most likely would go away. ^^
