Well, here it is, the painted version of

You'll notice the quote changed, didn't feel like it should be so much about flowers anymore. This quote was supplied by the awesomesauce that is ~StrikeFreedom21 . I was looking for quotes last night and he just pulled it out of his head! And it fit perfectly into what I was going for.

Well lets see, I kinda had wanted to make this some sort of tropical image, though I know now that just meant a different color scheme. It was fun using purple and blue for foliage instead of green, which i usually do in my paintings. And the color scheme reminds me of Brother Bear after the fact though I wasn't referencing anything.

Also, you might notice that the second tree was an addition in the painting process. It covered part of an already painted sky, but I had the idea while I was trying to sleep one night (coincidentally I also had this whole lighting idea in bed the night before) and decided to slap it out for all to see, the general consensus was that it was a good idea. But the real purpose is just to sell the lighting just a little bit more.

I've often wondered why comics don't show that just after sunset/last light lighting more often. That time of the day that the sky has turned that beautiful Cerulean and everything takes on that blue hue. It's certainly a fun way to color, but I guess it's not dramatic enough.

Well, since no writer ever writes that, or I never seem to get that chance, I wanted to use it here. Though it does still have a bit of orange light just for effect

Painted in PS CS4 with a Wacom Intous 4 in about 12 hours (on top of the 6 or so hours for the sketch)

I guess I'm averaging about 20 hours now in my painted works, guess I learned to have a little bit of patience
