Not gonna lie, I like your interpretation of him better than my own. I might have to turn Ingel into a lion of sorts.
Technically, he's a dog (but my art is so terrible everyone looks the same), but it doesn't make sense, considering that he has a child with a cat (cats and dogs can't breed).

you just need to reference! Try using lineart as a refrence it's free, if you need to you can even trace over it (give credit though) and use it! That was you still get really good practice while not getting in trouble for it!
