I was painting textures in Mudbox because it does not need perfect UV's and can realtime adjust if something looked wrong on the model without hopping between programs.

ah I feel you, I do the same thing with zbrush a lot.

O.o I did not know Zbrush did that. Back when I actually was remotely familiar with it in 2009 and like zBrush2. So long ago ^^'

yeah theyve had great improvements, I like it way more then mudbox

As a couple others said, awesome lighting! What did you use mudbox and nuke for specifically on this?

Mudbox was used for painting maps for mainly reflective properties on the wall, and some diffuse elements on the stairs. In Nuke I pushed some more color into the dark bit above the stairs, added some depth w/ blur, and a lens distort.
