Being completely honest ---> i kind of expected this to happen a few Pages before.

Then if this is the Case from her Perspective, why should the Mother be left alive also?
She is Competition, right? She gave birth to at least one of those Sons - and adopted
the other one. If this is some "Royal Fight" about a Throne, "a.l.l." possible Rivals are
to be exterminated from whoever wants to solve the Claims with violent Murder.

My theory is that she just got there to see the mom die and gets attacked by Elliot thinking she killed mom.

A lot of stories have a guardian or some other character that comes to help the main character get attack because of a misunderstanding. I did not see blood on the spear nor on her clothing so it can just be the angle which makes it look like there is going to be a misunderstanding.
