Description You would not believe your eyes / if I told you that I didn't actually listen to Fireflies while making this picture....

ꆂ鬱 - Sun

I adopted this armless angelic creature from whiisper-s . I added the lines on her body that indicate she is a doll-like construct imbued with life-- or perhaps a robot designed to look like an angel doll. I'm still figuring out the details. |D For the time being I have taken to calling her Ayla.

This picture took almost exactly 1 hour to draw in FireAlpaca from start to finish. It's another attempt at a "lineless" style since I only added lines for shading and to define interior borders.

What an interesting character design. I really like how you colored and shaded her, it really brings out her colors well.

For characters that have very pale colors, it can be a challenge to choose the right setting that they can stand out in. Glad you like the colors here!Ā  ^___^

Interesting. So part of me is a little irked, I guess cause of the asymmetry of this character. Why does she have legs and not just feet, but has no arms and only floating hands? The wing placement is interesting to.I can kinda see where if they were in the normal place it'd be a little confusing or not quite as interesting.

This drawing makes me think about floating limb creatures. I kinda want to build a MOC now that's like that. Ā

She has an interesting design which is part of the reason why I adopted her. I liked how she has these normal floating hands but then she's got these legs that taper into tiny feet. I will mention that although she can stand, she doesn't walk much because her ankles are not articulated, only her knees. The same technology (or magitek?) that keeps her hands and halo afloat also allows her to lift off the ground.

I do wonder how you'd make a MOC with floating limbs. Would you use transparent parts or suspend them with something like fishing line?

Yeah its generally understood that Magic is what makes floaty bits float.

I'd definitely use transparent clear parts. Lego sadly doesn't have any trans clear CCBS or bionicle limb parts. The best option would probably be the technic rods but that kinda dictates the scale. If I made it small enough, system parts could work instead. Trans clear is kinda used as a visual language in MOCing as "That's not actually there" or "Ignore that part." I've only used this once on Panopticon. As I built this MOC, it got too heavy for the legs to support it, so I had to give him clear stands. I was pretty nervous about that at first because I was afraid it would detract from the MOC, but people barely even notice it and even at the conventions no one ever really said anything. Just goes to show how much people understand that sort of implied rule about Trans clear parts. Ā

She's like a fairy that only science and magic could create.

I think you might be right! I'll have to see what happens with her story before I can properly decide on how she came into being. XD

Does she have a story?

At this point I haven't come up with one, but I have a few different stories that she could fit into.

Thanks! When I saw that design you had on sale, this is the kind of thing that my mind's eye saw and I just had to adopt her.
