Well the guards that killed her parent ran off when they saw Draco. They were going to kill her too but when they looked up and saw him flying they were like, "Eat the girl, not us." and dropped her. The captain was holding her up by the back of her dress. 

Then later the evil king was killed by a peasants riot.

Yeah and with his keen sight and hearing, he could see and hear what was happening, that's why he went there in the first place.
