Hey, Any advice on scanning black inks and making them more presentable?

Wow, I think everyone does this step differently. So while my steps are not the definitive way of doing it, it's what I've found that works for me. I usually scan all my lineart in grayscale and open in Photoshop. Convert to RGB, adjust Curves (the best way to describe this is to slowly form an S until your blacks are near solid and grays have gone almost white, but be careful, too much and you'll ruin it). Then I mess with brightness/Contrast (optional) and the last thing I do is go to filter and use Smart Sharpen to try and smooth out the lines a tad bit. Hope that helps.

That is awesome! I have a Batgirl sketch card that i've done the lineart for that I need to scan tonight...my issue is that with my normal process, everything looks more saturated and lines appear thicker...

YAY!

Thanks sir...

It makes sense! I should pay you to give me photoshop lessons. I'm starting my webcomic soon and would love to do in color but I'm only a traditional artist...

Traditional art is where it starts. The rest is just learning the necessities in Photoshop. For example, how to prepare your line art for coloring, and how to use layers and layer modes to get desired effects. believe me, there are tons of tutorials on the web to help you out. And to start you off on the right direction, I dug up 2 tutorials I did way back on preparing line art in photoshop. 2 different methods. Hope you can get something out of them

Heck yes you should color it...and then sell it to me! This is gorgeous! I love the expression on Rogue's face.

I doubt I could sell it for much...

Why don't I just include it with your APs? I'm ready to start on them, BTW--let me know what you are thinking my dear!
