I would LOVE to have seen this made! It'd make a gorgeous animated series or graphic novels! I love your designs for the Andalites and Hork-Bajir!

Me too! Hahaha
I know there's rumours about graphic novel possibilities (plus Charreed has already done a little bit of a webcomic) And I definitely want to storyboard out the first episode! So I have some plans!
And thank you!

Oh really?! I had not heard such things!!! I would LOVE to see a webcomic or graphic novel version! My husband and I were saying if they had a good budget and GOOD director that Andalite Chronicles would make a great movie that could lead into a great TV series, if done correctly. I always thought the Nickelodeon show was pretty decent for seeming low-budget and I definitely admired Sean Ashmore as an actor!

Here's Charreed's: animorphscomic.blogspot.ca/201…
The graphic novel possibility was mentioned on kaapplegate and MichaelGrantBks twitter.
Hmmmm, Chronicles WOULD do well as a movie, wouldn't it? And then definitely segway into a show like Firefly and Serenity! I mean the Nick show was a bit campy, but what wasn't in the 90s? Haha. And I agree, Shawn was fantastic, but I also loved everyone else they cast as the Animorphs. The puppets were the biggest issue I think.

He should keep going haha! (I tracked down all the books, and now have the complete set)
Well... I doubt I'll manage to get the whole thing out any time soon, so I got lots of time to deliberate! XD

I just finished the last book. Very, very intense. And though a "cruel cliffhanger" that is, also, a fun place to leave it. There's a whole other story waiting to be told there! I'm sad Cassie and Jake aren't "happily ever after" makin' babehs lol....but one of things I love most is how real the characters and the story all is. They grew up...they changed. It feels weird to be done with the series but it's a hell of a journey!

This piece should be more potent now that you've finished: fav.me/dapymna
And I agree. It kind of hurt, but the cliffhanger kind of needed to be there, as Applegate explains in her end-note. War doesn't go away, the faces just change.
ALSO YES. It's so sad, but I think also necessary. Watch this for Jake and Cassie: youtu.be/nVmeIEnKBTw (fair warning, I cried)
And totally! I think there are good stories that have optimal endings (Avatar: the Last Airbender to name one), but we also need those REAL stories that prepare us to face the real world and know that we CAN.
Best part about it is that you can reread it and find new gems every time!

Yeah I had done a project in sophomore year of highschool on K.A. Applegate and I had read that Rachel died during some of my research for the project. So I'd kinda already spoiled that for me, but it was still pretty poignant. I teared up some. But there were several points in which the books made me cry. I actually thought the one where they recruited the auxiliary Animorphs was really well written...the battle at the end of that book when all of the new kids were scared but James led them on and they morphed and entered battle just made me sob because it was like this beautiful testimony to human spirit. It's one of the things I LOVE so much about the books: the stirring notions inserted in them, subtly or blatantly! And so I was sad when Rachel passed but I guess I kind of Marco-ed it a bit and just was stuck in that "well it had to be her" mindset like he thought. It had to be Rachel. She was the one to do it. And she was the one that would've just been completely lost without the battle. The darkness that had grown in her was getting rather ugly. But I liked that there, in the end, she was just a brave kid. I have so much admiration and sympathy for Jake by the end of the series too. Tobias is still my favorite character but Jake won a fast second by the end because dear lord the things that kid went through!!!
Indeed! That's one of the most beautiful things about it all...it wasn't "and then they all lived happily ever after". Ax went back amongst Andalites and was fighting battles and Jake and Cassie didn't marry. Because war doesn't disappear. It isn't "all better". And Jake belonged fighting...it's what he'd been molded into, sadly. And eeeekkk I hope they save Ax somehow there in the end! That The One sounded creepily kinda like Crayak-Father mix! Scary!!!!
Aw!!! Yes! That is a good song for them!!!! I got a little misty watching that! The saddest thing of all is that I think they really still loved each other first and foremost when they separated. They just were too adult...they knew it wouldn't work because their relationship was broken. And that's the saddest thing. Love was there but that wasn't going to cut it. I was thinking this song, www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtQ7n_… would be a great Tobias song.
Oh indeed! Even just having my husband read them after me, he'll point out certain parts that I might not have caught before. Or when I was rereading them now at age 30 I caught things I certainly didn't catch back in 5th,6th, or 7th grade reading them! They're so intelligently done!

Who was your favorite character in the series?
And if you were an Animorph, what would be your battle morph if you had access to acquire it?

Mine was Tobias and Ax as a kid and now was Tobias and Jake. I used to be kinda meh towards Marco...sorta neutral...and he rose in my likes re-reading. The girls fell lower in my liking though I still love all the characters.
Mm...lioness then? And is that an African wild dog? and barn owl? Also fun meme! I must save this and make my hubby and I fill it out sometime! ^^

Indeed, I think it was one of the most fun things about the story, that you got rotating perspectives of all the main characters! And you got to watch all the characters grow over the series.
Very cool! And yes I always thought Polar Bear was a great heavy hitter morph! The over-heating aspect was the only downfall to that morph I could see but I thought it was an awesome notion!

See, I live so far up north, that for half the year it reeeaaallly isn't a problem. XD

Indeed! For better or for worse!
Ah, yes. That's something definitely to consider. After all some animals are going to be more common in certain areas than others. Like there are seagulls here often in parking lots and whatnot but sparrows and robins are far more common for birds that are everywhere, for example.

Yes! Location can say a lot about the morphs you get! I mean, I could probably access ravens for blending in and yeah!

I unfortunately don't have big cats handy nearby lol but there are zoos! I'd have to do my own little "Gardens-runs" lol though I am not lucky enough to have a parent that works in a zoo lol

Well, I mean volunteering at local animal shelters are always a good start! Good to find dogs and cats, the occassional horse (our shelter was not really equipped for it haha), rodent, raven, and even chicken! A cat can catch a bird, and from there you can fly around and locate more wildlife. (I've thought a lot about this, can you tell?)

I figured my first morph would be my cat, Cappuccino. I'd "follow in Tobias' footsteps" and likely morph my pet cat first lol. Then we have a collie, Kyna, which would probably be a good starter morph too. She's definitely fast lol! Flies wouldn't be too hard to catch to acquire and there are farm animals around here certainly, too. Getting the WILDLIFE-wildlife like big cats would definitely involve sneaking into a zoo to acquire...I think getting the bird morphs to get to the zoo would be the best option first hehe.

Heh. I don't have a zoo close enough, but there's usually plenty of wildlife around. Namely moose and deer, but I've been pretty close to an owl (that was trying to catch our snowballs) and a sparrow's hawk that ran into my window. I also had a brown bat show up at work and I had to take it outside (I had gloves on of course). My biggest problem would be CATCHING the wildlife! XD

Considering they can TOTAL A CAR? Yeah, I'd say so too XD
That's what the first morphs are for. To sneak up, pounce on, demorph and aquire, haha!

PoldalleLovesnare In reply to Wheatart [2017-05-03 22:39:57 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. And moose are pretty cool looking. It's the kind of morph that could be mistaken as a non-threat and then you deal some massive damage. ^^
I might be able to catch a bird with a cat morph. And hopefully not hurt it too badly. And once I had a bird morph at least I could travel further to try to get other morphs from there. Try to work my way up to stronger morphs.

This is so cool! And ever since I re-read the series a couple years ago, I can't get it out of my head how much Animorphs would make an AWESOME animated show. Seriously! The adventure is compelling, there's SO MUCH material for a nice, long series, not to mention the opportunity to build even more filler, each character is so unique from each other and they're never boring!! The live-action TV show was a total fail because they had to spend their entire budget on the special effects of morphing and aliens. If it's a cartoon, though, special effects are neither here nor there, so it can be made into something good!
*huff huff* Sorry. Feelings, but really great work!
